Several organisations that were associated with Professor Peter Cullen have initiated memorials to him, in his name. These initiatives are completely separate from the Peter Cullen Trust.

NSW Government Scholarship

The NSW Government is calling for applications for the Peter Cullen Postgraduate Scholarship for the 2011 academic year. The Scholarship opens on the 23rd August 2010 and closes on the 8th October 2010.

The scholarship is open to 2011 first year PhD students proposing to undertake water related research within NSW.

Australian Rivers Institute Special Lecture

The Australian Rivers Institute at Griffith University, Queensland, holds an annual special lecture dedicated to the memory of Professor Peter Cullen. It provides a forum to bring together scientists and policy makers, to discuss priority knowledge needs to underpin the sustainable management of our water resources.

Attendance at these lectures is by invitation only.

At the 2010 lecture, on 5 August, Ms Qiuchi Shi (Director, Water Resources Protection Division Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Water Resources, PR China) and Ms Robyn Kruk AM (Secretary, Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts) discussed the challenges of sustainable water resource management.

National Water Commission's Peter Cullen Eureka Prize

Sponsored by the National Water Commission, the Professor Peter Cullen Eureka Prize for Water Research and Innovation is awarded to an individual, team or organisation for research and innovation that has made or has the potential to make an outstanding contribution to the sustainable use and management of Australia's water resources. The winner receives $10,000.
