After highly successful Leadership Programs in 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Peter Cullen Trust is proud to announce applications are now open for the 2013 Science to Policy Leadership Program, commencing in September 2013.
This Program focuses on raising awareness of key issues amongst our mid-career rising stars. The program builds leadership and communication skills specifically geared to bringing about positive change in water and catchment management in Australia. The Trust selects those who are highly skilled and motivated and can continue the work of Peter Cullen.
Peter Cullen is remembered for his superb capacity to synthesise and communicate complex ideas, simply and clearly, to local communities, policy makers and politicians in a way that supported them to make decisions and take action. The Trust is apolitical and seeks to support informed debate and decision making inclusive of all stakeholders in water and catchment management across Australia.
The program is a journey of personal discovery. It challenges participants to stretch themselves beyond their current boundaries and realise their potential to make a real difference in their chosen water related careers.
The 2013 Science to Policy Leadership Program is comprised of two hands-on sessions of experiential learning. These focus on developing awareness and skills that will enable water scientists, policy makers and other key stakeholders in the water space to effectively participate in, and influence, policy development.
Current highly regarded experts and leaders in science and policy and politicians (from various parties) will share their experiences in leading informed decision-making.
Leith Boully has a long experience in water and catchment management from local to national levels. She designs and delivers leadership and executive coaching programs.
Rob Patrick has significant experience in natural resource management in the public service. He has been designing and delivering strategic leadership programs for the last decade.
Colin Hendrie brings a long experience in the corporate sector to experiential leadership development programs, delivered to a broad range of national and international clients.
