What we support

"I believe my biggest personal contribution has been in the delivery of knowledge"
(Peter Cullen)

It is this legacy that has inspired so many and will drive the Trust forward as we strive to:

  • remain passionate about building Australian water and climate literacy, and the scientific and policy capacity to underpin it;
  • remain grounded in good science, targeted to its application context;
  • be active and creative at the interface between science and policy;
  • become leaders of community debate about science and the environment (especially water);
  • develop others strategic interest in knowledge and knowing (which is far more than just science);
  • remain driven to making a difference, on the ground and among people;
  • remain independent, beholden to no particular interest;
  • be frank and fearless, yet unfailingly respectful and courteous.

In the future the Trust will run and co-fund a wide range of programs.  Currently, we are developing:

  • Leadership Program – “Bridging Water Science and Policy”,
  • Peter Cullen Trust Fellowship,
  • New opportunities to co-fund projects to benefit Australia’s water management, and
  • Water conferences and events that encourage debate.
